EASLEY CEMETERY Surrounded by a falling rock wall, this cemetery click here for picture is in a pasture owned by Albert and Mary Dan Tinsley off Avenstoke Road. This and the surrounding land were once owned by Martin Easley. The remains of the Easley house (chimneys and foundation only) are nearby.
Only fieldstone markers are present, with two graves easily identified along one wall (head and footstones) and a probable third grave nearby.
Other graves may well have been marked, but cattle and tree roots have moved the stones. Not long after purchasing the property,
Mr. Tinsley saw a stone engraved with ‘Easley’, however we were unable to find it.
This cemetery is most likely the resting place of Martin and his wife Johanna, and possibly some of their children.
Children born in Anderson Co. are Cornelia Frances (m. John D. Clifford), Miller W.G., Martha A., James H., John F., and William Willis.
Based on census records, Miller, Martha, James and John died young and are most likely also buried here.
Cornelia is buried in St. Louis Cemetery in Louisville and William in Lincoln Co., Oregon (Research by Donna Nichols).
