  Declaration filed April 1, 1872, alleging disability from pistol or buck shot wound left foot, in action with Gen. Bragg's rear guard, in his retreat from Tullahoma, Tenn., July 4, 1863.  He also alleges that he was again wounded in the right foot, October 2, 1864, in an action on Sweetwater Creek, Ga.

  DECLARATION FOR THE INCREASE OF AN INVALID PENSION

  On this 2nd day of August, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety-8 personally appeared before me, a S.W. PRUELL within and for the county and State aforesaid, CHRISTOPHER C. PARKE, aged 57 years, a resident of Dudley, County of stoddard, State of Missouri, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is a pensioner of the United States, enrolled at the Louisville Pension Agency at the rate of Ten dollars per month, by reason of disability from gunshot wounds of both feet incurred in the military service of the United States while a private, Co C in the 5th Kentucky Calvary.  That he believes himself to be entitled to an increase of pension on account of his pension not being equivalent to his disibility.  Total blindness of left eye and nearly so of right eye.  Can notice objects, but not able to describe same.  Had measles in Jan. '62, at Regimental Hospital, Columbia, Ky.  For months apparently blind, finally sight returned, but red streaks appeared and have remained ever since.  That he hereby proposes to act as his own attorney to prosecute his claim.  That the number of his pension certificate is 130034.  That his post-office address is Dudley County of Stoddard, State of Missouri

  GENERAL AFFIDAVIT
  State of Kentucky, County of Allen
  In the matter of CHRISTOPHER C. PARKE claimant no. 130024 for pension.   Personally came before me, a JOHN GARRISON in and for aforesaid County and State, age 64 years citizen of the Town of Chapilhill, County of Allen, State of Kentucky, well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declaire in relation to aforesaid case, as follows:
   
  I have known C.C. PRKE since 1861 and served a compain in hagards Regimental volunteers in company D and C.C. PARKE was in the same regiment in company C.  I was present at a cirmast on Cumberland mountain the fourth day of July 1863 in which C.C. PARKE was shot in the foot said ball was not taking at the time he was shot and the doctor said that he could not extract and it heald up without being extracted and PARKE was allwais laim afterward.  Said PARKE would have been discharged but for his own safety he perferd staying with the army because his home was haunted by gurilor bands allso in sixty four said PARKE was shot in the other foot at Sweat Watercreek.  Since the war I only saw him ocasionaly he was all the time laim in the left foot.
   
  I further decleare that I have no interest in said case, and not concerned in its prosecution.

  AFFIDAVIT OF GEORGE W. TAYLOR AND JERYMIAH SHOTT
  dated April 20, 1901
  This is to Certify under oath that We Were members of Co. C. 5th Ky Cavalry Vol from 1861 to 1865 and that we were acquainted with CHRISTOPHER C. PARKE who was a member of said Co. and that the said CHRISTOPHER C. PARKE had the measles while a member of said Co. at Columbia Adair Co Ky on or about Christmas week 1861 and that they did affect his eyes to a considerable extent and that his eyes were considerably damaged and that they remained in that condition until he was mustered out of the Service in 1865

  GENERAL AFFIDAVIT
  State of Missouri, County of Stoddard.  In claim No. 131024 of CHRISTOPHER C. PARKE of Co. C of 5th Regt. of Ky Cav Vols.  Personally appeared before the undersigned duly authorized to administer oaths within and for said County, JOSEPH H. WRIGHT aged 46 years, whose P.O. is Dudley, County of Stoddard State of MO, who being duly sworn, states in relation to said claim as follows to wit:
   
  I have been acquainted with C.C. PARKE since 1881 and have known his condition to be such that he would do any labor from a wound in the left foot.  Have known him to go on crutches for sum time, the worst spell I ever knew him to have was about two years ago I know he is comfitted at times to lay up on account of the pain his foot gives have herd him complain of not being abel to sleep have seen his foot swolen very bad.  He is also wounded in the right foot.
