MOORE, Wilson Virginia S 31262

Allen County, Nov. 20, 1832. In open court, WILSON MOORE, aged about 74 deposes that he entered the militia from Lunenberg County, Va. in the company of Captain JOSEPH WINN about March 1776. Four years later served again in the company of Capt. WM. RAGSDALE. But between these two services, he served as substitute for THOMAS OLDHAM.

He was 16 years old when he entered the service. He was in the Battle of Jamestown. PEYTON WELSH, clergyman, and JOHNSON J. COCKEVILLE are neighborhood witnesses.

Allen County, 20 Nov. 1832. JOHN WRIGHT deposes that he knew WELSH MOORE as a boy in Lunenberg, or Lunenburgh Co., Va., and knew him to join the army and while he cannot specify the services of said MOORE he knows he was out a good long time.

Warren County, 25. 1832 Before Justice SAMUEL VONTRESS, SALLY TILLY, aged from appearance 75-80 years deposes that WILSON MOORE was absent from home 9 or 10 months or more for he was gone a good long time and she understood he was gone to serve a tour of service in the Revolutionary War.

Treasury Dept. Dec. 6, 1838. Under Act of 6 April 1838 authorizing payment to the children of WILSON MOORE a pensioner at $76.66 per annum under the Law of 7 June 1832, have been paid at this Department from 4 Sept.1837 to 21 Dec. 1837, the day of his death. ALBIN K. PARIS, Comptroller.

Covering Jacket: Kentucky ------- 13942. Wilson Moore, Allen County, Private Company of Captain Winn, Regt. of Co. Mason in Va. line for 1 year and 11 months. Inscribed on Ky. Roll at $76.66 per year to begin 4 March 1831. Certificate of pension issued 15 July 1833
