DURHAM, John Virginia S31003

Allen County, Ky. 11 Nov., 1833 in Circuit Court, JOHN DURHAM aged 72 deposes: that he entered the army of the US as volunteer in Feb. 1781 in Halifax County, Va., where he then resided and was born. Served under Captain JOHN THOMPSON. Served 6 weeks except last 2 or 3 days when he was sent home on account of sickness. In April of the same year he was drafted for 4 months and served under Captain PARAN(?) BOOKER who was displaced and he was then commanded by Captain WM. CLARK, and again drafted in Sept. of same year and served under Captain WM. McDANIEL. Was furloughed on account of sickness.

BENJAMIN BAILEY, a clergyman and WALTER THOMAS Testify to their belief in his age and Revolutionary War Service. ASHER W. GRAHAM, Judge of said Court.

Covering Jacket: Ky. 25,542. John Durham, Allen County, Ky. who was a private in the company commanded by Capt. Thompson in Va. Militia for 6 months from 1781. Inscribed on Ky. Roll at $20 per year to begin 4 March 1831. Certificate of Pension issued January 28, 1834.
