OBITUARY: Carroll, Virgil - Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Virgil Carroll, 89, formally of Wolfe County, passed away at his home 
in Powell County, Kentucky  on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.  Virgil 
was born in Wolfe County on July 8, 1920 in the Big Andy Ridge-Torrent 
area of the County.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Hollon.  
He is survived by a son, James, of Clay City, Kentucky.

Virgil was the son of Sampson B. Carroll and Eliza M. Payne, and a 
descendant of Nolan Carroll and Drucilla Booth, early settlers of 
Owsley and Wolfe Counties.
