Age 87, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away, Monday, December 22, 2008 at Sycamore Hospital. Lonnie was born in Wolfe County, KY, on February 6, 1921 to the late, James E. and Elsie (Stamper) Childers. He was a W.W. II Veteran serving in both the U.S. Army and the Navy. Lonnie retired from General Motors in 1980 after 30 years of service; and was a member of the Germantown First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Leona M. (Schaeffing) Childers; a brother, George Childers; and a half brother, Millard Gabbard. He is survived by 2 brothers, Henry E. (June) Childers of Hubert Heights, OH and Johnnie (Austina) Childers of Warren, ME; 2 sisters, Mabel (Walter) Fleenor of Bonita Springs, FL and Retta (Gene) Brandenburg of Vandalia, OH; a half brother, David (Lula) Gabbard of W. Alexandria, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held Monday December 29th , from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. (1 hour prior to the Service) at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown, OH, where the Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., with Pastor Ted Ricci officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, W.
