Brewer TRENTON -- Hobert Lee "Curly" Brewer, 77, of Trenton, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001. He was born on May 28, 1923, in Wolfe County, Ky., the son of John Brewer and Oma (Wyatt) Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a veteran of World War II. He served with the 101st Airborne Division in battles and campaigns in Normandy and Northern France and in the air offensive in Europe. He was the recipient of numerous campaign ribbons and three Bronze Stars. He retired from Armco Steel Co. in 1983 after 36 years of service. Mr. Brewer was a born-again child of God, attending the Yankee Road First Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alma (Cox) Brewer; seven children, Gary and Teresa Brewer of Middletown, Phyllis and Bo Osborne of Franklin, Darrell and JoAnna Brewer of Goodspring, Tenn., Charles Brewer of Trenton, Wallace and Karen Brewer of Somerville, Ohio, Sandra and Michael Calhoun of Troy, Ohio, and Willie and Liz Brewer of Goshen, Ind.; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Brewer of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gertrude Combs; and two brothers, Courtney and Eugene Brewer. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home in Middletown, with the Rev. S. Kevin Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the honor guard of American Legion Post 218.
