Obituary: Brooks, Elmer Tom, died - Thursday, July 6, 2006 July 8, 2006 - Dayton Daily News, Dayton, Ohio Submitted by: vanderkan@aol.com ********************************************************************* Elmer Tom Brooks, age 90, of Middletown, OH; passed away July 6, 2006 at Franklin Ridge Nursing Home in Franklin, OH. He was born October 1, 1915 in Wolfe County, KY son of George Morgan and Fannie (Fulks) Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 46 years Bonnie (Hollon) Brooks, brothers Estil, Leslie, and Edward Brooks, sisters Beulah Creech, Ora Creech, Halah Brooks, Sylvia Bowers, Lorene Fallen, a son-in-law Larry Parsons. Elmer was a loving husband, father, and was the best grandpa in the world. He is survived by his 2nd wife Geraldine Brooks of Middletown (OH), daughters Geneva Parsons of Franklin (OH), Reva Dempster (Richard) of Middletown, sons Charles Brooks (Cathi) of Franklin, and George Brooks (Dawn) of Dayton (OH), grandchildren Teresa (Eric) Herman of Troy, OH, Larry (Rhonda) Parsons of Franklin, Lisa (Mitch) Ledford of Lebanon, OH, Carolyn (John) Frazee of Franklin, Derrick (Amy) Brooks of Middletown, Jeff Lewis (Heather) of Miamisburg! (OH), Richie Dempster of Middletown, Greg Brooks of Franklin, and twins Trent and Wesley Brooks of Dayton, great grandchildren Tyler Budde, Tanner McGee, Taylor Parsons, Hanna and Cooper Ledford, Caitlyn Parsons, and Jessica Frazee, a brother Carl Brooks (Lucille) of Trent, KY, a brother-in-law Frank Hollon (Elaine) of Middletown, many precious nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elmer was a devout Christian and a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Bellbrook serving as a former Deacon. He was a farmer in KY, worked for Olinger Brothers Construction for many years and retired from Delco Moraine. Funeral services are 11am July 10, 2006 at Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St Franklin, OH with Rev Vernon Risner officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be July 9. 2006 from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
