OBITUARY: Brewer, Clester R., August 25, Monday Middletown Journal From: vivianmoon@juno.com Date: August 25, 2003 Clester R. Brewer Clester R. Brewer, 85, of Middletown, passed away Sunday Aug. 24, 2003, at the Otterbein Nursing Home in Lebanon. He was born June 12, 1918, in Wolfe County, Ky., the son of Thomas Jefferson and Nannie Brewer. Clester was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in World War II. He worked as a door serviceman in the coke plant at Armco Steel and retired in 1980 after 30 years of service. He also delivered food for Middletown Area Senior Citizens for more than six years. He was the chief of the South Middletown Fire Department for 12 years, which he also helped organize and develop. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Nannie Helton, Lizzie Profitt, Mary Brewer, Ada Campbell, Lula Stamper, Lenice Brewer and Della Nickels; brothers Richard, Willie, Thomas, James, and Lennox Brewer; and half-brother Estill Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lora Stamper Brewer, of Middletown; daughter Diana Moore and her husband Robert, of Trenton; grandchildren Dana Moore, of Trenton, and Jason Moore, of Middletown; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Ave., Middletown, OH 45042. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Brewer officiating.
