Obituary: Collier, Lester - Monday, April 5, 1982 Wolfe County News - April 1982 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** LESTER COLLIER OF PINE RIDGE DIES APRIL 5 Lester Collier, 61, of Pine Ridge died Monday, April 5 at his residence, of an apparent heart attack. He was a mechanic for the state highway department, a veteran of World War II, a native of Wolfe County and a member of the first Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Viola Linkous Collier; three daughters, Betty Bumgarner of Virginia, Patty Biram of Campton, Ruth Ann Culbertson of Valeria; five grandchildren, one brother, Austin Collier of Pine Ridge; four sisters, Roxie Netherly of Stanton; Lillian Carroll of Irvine, Laura Bowell of Texas; Larena Hanks of Covington. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 8 at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Brewer and Ted Linkous officiating. Burial in the Evans Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Military services were conducted at the graveside by the Morehead Post of the American Legion. Pallbearers were Charlie Fulse, Junior Abner, John Banks, Dowie Banks, Vernon Rose, Bobby Brewer.
