Obituary: Clark, Elmer C. - March 4, 1976 Wolfe County News - March 19, 1976 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Elmer C. Clark, 78, former Wolfe County sheriff and jailer, and prominent farmer, died suddenly Thursday, March 4. A native of Wolfe County, Clark served as sheriff from 1946 to 1950, and had served a four year term as jailer. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Mizpah No 507 F&AM. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nora Russell Whisman Clark, Hazel Green; a son, Kendall Clark, Hazel Green: a step-son, Lynn Whisman, Tulsa, Okla., a step-daughter, Mrs. Reva Everage, Milan, Ind.; a brother, three sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hazel Green Christian Church. Burial was in the Hazel Green Cemetery.
