Obituary: Branham, Tal - Tuesday, February 8, 1977 Wolfe County News - February 9, 1977 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** TAL BRANHAM DIES FEB. 8TH Tal Branham, 81, of the Calaboose Road, husband of Virgie Tolson Branham, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 8, after being rushed to the Veterans Hospital, Lexington, the day before. He had not been in good health for several years. He was a native of Menifee county, a resident of Wolfe County most of his life, attended the Baptist Church, a veteran of World War I, and was a son of the late George and Martha Brown Branham. Other survivors besides his wife include two sons, Vernon Branham, Dayton, Ohio, and Kenneth Branham, Campton; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Linkous, Campton, and Mrs. Bernice Newberry, Lawndale, California; three half-brothers, Conley Sorrell, Pine Ridge, Bruce Branham of Martha, and Kelly Branham of Dayton, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Etta Little, Denniston, Mrs. Ida Turner of Paris, and Mrs. Grace Napier, Florida; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Harvest Time Tabernacle, with Rev. Omer Spencer and Russell Reynolds, officiating.
