Mr. George Banks, 77, of Rose Fork, died Friday, Feb. 8 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington. Mr. Banks was a native of Wolfe County, a member of the Church of God and a retired farmer. He was a son of the late William and Emma Watkins Banks. Survivors are his wife, Sophia Combs Banks of Rose Fork; three sons, William Banks of Route 1 Campton, Willard Banks of Lexington and Wendell Banks of Hazel Green; five daughters, Emma Belle Couch of Versailles, Elizabeth Buck of Midland, Michigan, Jewell Hall of Route 1 Campton, Betty Jean Salley of Route 2 Hazel Green and Mildred Goldie of Route 2 Owingsville; four brothers, Andy Banks of Route 1 Campton, Miles Banks and Hollon Banks both of Dayton, Ohio and Willie Banks of Insko; two sisters, Susie Massie of Dayton, Ohio and Belle King of Orlando, Florida; 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at the Lee City Community Church with Rev. Charlie Glover officiating.
