Cox, Jr. died late Monday night at his home in Middletown, OH after suffering a heart attack. He formerly lived in Stanton. Other survivors include three daughters, Joyce, Lisa and Shirley Cox, a stepdaughter, Miss Jeraldine Weldner, and four sons, John, Steve, Danny and Ronnie Cox, all of Middletown, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth White, Stanton and Mrs. Margaret Maloney of Corbin. Services were conducted at the Baker Funeral Home, Middletown, Ohio by the Rev. Clifford Hutchinson. Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Evans Cemetery, Campton, by the Rev. Larry Barrell with burial in the Evans Cemetery. Bearers were Willard Stamper, John Austin, James Allen, Jr., Nelson H. and Raymond White. Cox was the son of the late Dr. John Cox who served as public health officer for Wolfe County, and Vivian Stamper Cox. As a youth, he lived at Campton and Pine Ridge.
