Jett, 73, husband of Jean Evans Jett, died Fri, Aug. 25, 2006 at the Clark County Regional Hospital in Winchester from an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Breathitt County, a member of the Campton Baptist Church, and a retired educator, having served a number of years as Wolfe County School Superintendant. He was also the owner and operator of the Richard Jett Tours of Campton. He was the son of the late Zeke Jett Sr. and the late Stella Hounshell Jett. He was very active in community affairs in Capmton and Wolfe County. He is survived by his wife, Jean Evans Jett of Campton, and three sisters, Velma Brewer of Michigan, Angela Deaton of Jackson, KY, and Erma Griffith of South Gate, KY, along with a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeke and Burgett Jett Sr., one sister, Lucille Collins, and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tue, Aug. 29 at the Porter and Son Funeral Directors with Bro. Doyle Thomas and Bro. J. R. Fouth officiating. Burial will be in the Jett Cemetery and Hilands in Breathitt County.
