Obituary: Combs, Brownlow - Friday, May 22, 1936 Beattyville Enterprise - May 1936 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** BROWNLOW COMBS DIED FRIDAY Williba, May 24 - Brownlow Combs, 71, died at his home here Friday of asthma. He was a native of Wolfe county and was born March 3, 1865. In 1883 he was married to Miss Ella Stamper who was the mother of six ofhis 13 surviving children - four sons, Rudy Combs, Irvine; Barney Combs, Clay City; Mitch Combs , Hazard, and Jesse Combs, Fillmore, two daughters, Mrs. Keen Barker, Fillmore and Miss Josie Combs, Pontiac, Mich. In 1905 Mr. Combs was married to Miss Jammie Dale of Breathitt county and is survived by seven children by this marriage. There were four sons: Walter, James, Burl, and Willard of Williba, three daughters, Mrs. Clay Crawford, Pontiac, Mich., Misses Madge and Thelma, Williba. In addition to the 13 children, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Arminie Combs age 91 years. His wife died March 21, 1935. Funeral services were conducted Sunday by the Revs. J.H.
