CABLE Crit E. Cable, 90 of Campton died Wed. May 3 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington following an extended illness. He was a retired salesman, having traveled for Belknap Hardward Co., for 30 years, and was a retired farmer and businessman. Mr. Cable also was a charter member of the Wolfe County Kiwanis Club and was a 50 year Mason and member of Cox Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Alma Stamper of Campton; four sons, Austin Stamper of Lexington, Kenneth Stamper of Maysville, and James and Jack Cable of Campton; three sisters, Cora McIntosh and Pearl Bodkin of Lexington and Verna Boots of Avon; one brother, Clayton Cable of Middletown, Ohio; eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sat. at the Campton Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Sparks, Rev. Richard Chamberlin, and Rev. Doyle Thomas officiating. Burial in Evans Cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside. Shackelford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers will be Bob Adams, Everett Smith, Roger Johnson, Earl Pence, Buddy Brewer, and Orville Booth. Honorary pallbearers are Omer Catron, C.W. Murphy, Arthur Kash, James Swope, Hays Pigman, Riley Harris, Jess Johnson, John Buchanan and Everett Miller.
