Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* WOLFE NATIVE DIES IN OHIO Hobart J. Brashear, 49 of Dayton, Ohio, and formerly of Wolfe County, died in the Veterans Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, Sat. Jan. 22, after an illness of 18 months. He was a veteran of over 16 years in the Army and Air Force, a native of Wolfe county, and was a son of the late Lucy King Collins Brashear, and Carl Brashear of Campton. He is survived by one son, Donny Joe Brashear, Middletown, Ohio; his father Carl Brashear, Campton; three brothers, Sampson Brashear, Hazard, Dempsey Brashear, Rogers, and Jesse Brashear of Franklin, Ohio; three half brothers, Kernie, Luther and Mort Collins, all of Middletown, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Golden Rose, Campton, Mrs. Anna Cox, Middletown, Ohio, and Mrs. Jane Byrd, Louisville, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the Porter and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Doyle Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Brashear Cemetery in the Callaboose section of Wolfe County.
