Carroll, 76, retired merchant of 115 Fitch Ave., Winchester, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Veterans Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness. He was a native of Wolfe County, a veteran of World War I, member of Central Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 711 at Zachariah. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Childrers Carroll, two daughters, Mrs. Glen White and Mrs. Billye Wells of Winchester; five brothers, D.B. Carroll, McLenansboro, Ill., J.E. Carroll, Zachariah, Fred and Robert Carroll, Campton, and Lester Carroll of Winchester; two sisters, Rose Kincaid and Mrs. Alvin Hubbard of Beattyville, and three grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Scobee Funeral Home, Winchester, by Rev. H.C. Zachry.
