He was born March 26, 1837 being 100 years and six days old at the time of his death. He was married March 23, 1866 to Miss Sarah Ellen Pieratt and to this union ten children were born, three of whom survive; James and Darsie Ingram, Maytown and James Ingram of Campton, and one sister, Mrs. Williams of this city. Mr. Ingram was the oldest man in Morgan county and the last old War Veteran. He served in the war of 1861 as a rebel soldier. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Davis of Ezel, after which the Masonic Order of which he had been a member for more than 50 years took charge and conducted the ritualistic burial services. Mr. Ingram was also a member of the Christian church, having united with the church when a young man. Until a short time before his death, Uncle Jasper as he was familiarly known, retained his usual alert mind and conversed with his family and friends. His passing brings sorrow to the legion of friends and associates throughout his life here on earth.
