Wolfe County News, Oct. 29, 1949

CLARENCE P. ELKINS, 71 of Hazel Green died at 1:15 p.m. yesterday at 
the St. Joseph's hospital after a three week illness.

Born in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Martha 
Paxton Elkin.  He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Junior 
Order of the United American Mechanics.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Haney Elkin, Hazel Green.

The body was removed to the D.M. Lowe funeral home and will be taken to 
Hazel Green today.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hazel Green 
Christian church and burial will follow in the Hazel Green cemetery.

Mr. Elkin died Friday October 21st.

Besides his wife, he is survived by to nieces and two nephews who 
attended his funeral in Hazel Green, Sunday afternoon.  Mrs. Dan Elkins, his 
niece from Lexington will remain a few days with Mrs. Clarence Elkins, 
wife of the deceased.

Ova Lawson, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Lawson, of Campton, died 
October 14, being 1 year and two days old.

The seventeenth month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ova Adkins, Campton 
rural, died October 19.
