He has had an operation and is still very ill. Mr. Cable is the father of Mrs. Edith Cooper of Campton and Mr. Forest Cable of Stillwater and also Mrs. Rodney Barker of Middletown. O., His many friends are wishing for him a speedy recovery. ------ Wolfe County News, March 28, 1951 CASPER CABLE, 71 Buried Satruday Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 at the Fincastle Christian Church, Lee County, for Mr. Casper Cable, age 71, who died Saturday at 9:00 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Cable, a well-known and loved resident of Cable Ridge in Lee County, passed away as the result of a fall from his barn loft several weeks ago at which time he suffered a broken back. Final rites were conducted by the Rev. J.C. Everman, West Bend, Indiana assisted by the Rev. B.J. Cox, Winchester. Burial was in the Cable Cemetery in the Fincastle section. In additon to his wife, Mrs. Rosa Smyth Cable, he leaves to survive four daughters, Mrs. Rodney Barker, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Hubert Cooper, Campton; Mrs. George Lovelace, Louisville and Miss Virginia Lee Cable, Lafayette, Indiana; three sons, Keith Cable, Dayton: Forest Cable, Campton; and Raymond Cable, Lafayette, Indiana. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Pallbears were Thomas Earl Shackelford, Arthur Shackelford, Jr., Kash Smyth, William Abner, Jr., Alex Taylor, Tensley Stump, Cecil Kincaid and Bernie Shackelford.
