Obits: Caudill, Fred, died 03/1948 Oct. 2002 Wolfe County, KY Submitted by: http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/vols/00001.html#0000062 Wolfe County Genealogy and Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Wolfe County News, March 28, 1948 FALL FROM TRUCK FATAL TO YOUTH Fred Caudill, 18, son of widow Caudill, either fell or jumped from the back of Corbett Hollon's truck Sunday night and killed himself. Corbett did not even know that the boy was on his truck, he says. George Henry Hollon and Fred Caudill were together and hung on the back of the truck while it was coming out of R.L. Hollon's place. While the truck was going up the bank at the Bailey Field School house, George Henry Hollon jumped off. It is thought the Caudill boy must have jumped off a few minutes later and hit on his head, killing himself instantly, as Mr. Corsie Collins came along a short time afterwards and found the Caudill boy lying in the highway dead. His body was on the highway just below where the truck had come onto the highway, at the Bailey Field School house. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. America Caudill, four sisters, two brothers, seven half-brothers and two half-sisters. His half brothers and sisters all live in Breathitt and Perry counties. We wish to express our deepest sympathy for the grief stricken family. ************************************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
