(Jake) Bush, 72 Wolfe County News - Oct. 1, 1952 FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SATRUDAY FOR LOCAL HEART ATTACK VICTIM Zacharia, Ky - Funeral services were conducted Satruday afternoon at the Pine Hill Baptist church for J.J. (Jake) Bush, 72, a retired Torrent, Ky. merchant, who was found dead Thursday afternoon in a cabin he owned near here in the Big Bend oil fields. Burial was in the Bush Cemetery here. Mr. Bush, who was widely known throughout this section, operated a general store, in partners with his brother, Edd Bush at Torrent for many years. He was never married, and had been living with a sister, Mrs. Addie Spencer at Torrent. A native of Wolfe county, he was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church and of the Torrent Masonic Lodge. He owned a cabin in the oil fields and occasionally went there to spend a day or two. He had gone out there Thursday morning with Willie Wireman, a foreman in the oil fields, as Mr. Wireman went to work. Wireman said Mr. Bush told him that he was going squirrel hunting and then do some work around the cabin. When Wireman returned about 4 p.m. he found Mr. Bush slumped on the floor, and it appeared that he had been dead only a short time. Powell County Coroner Clayton Fryar was called, and following an inquest at the cabin, he returned a verdict of natural death. He said there was no evidence of foul play. It was decided by the six man coroner's jury that the victim suffered a heart attack. The body was taken to the Hearne Funeral Home at Stanton and was returned to Edd Bush residence Friday afternoon where it remained until time for funeral services. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Spencer, Mrs. W.M. Adams, Leeco, and Mrs. Celia Holden, Dayton, Ohio, and two brothers, Edd Bush and John P. Bush, both of Zacharia, Ky. ************************************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
