NAN CENTER BURNED TO DEATH AT STILLWATER HOME "Aunt Nan Centers" as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, was accidentally burned to death at her home on Stillwater on Monday, February 21, about 3:00 p.m. Aunt Nan made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Millie Brewer, who had stepped from the house for a few minutes. When Mrs. Brewer returned to the house she found her mother on the floor with third degree burns and in an unconscious state, She died about two hours later. It was assumed that she had accidentally caught her outing gown on fire and had probably fainted in trying to put it out. Funeral services were conducted at one o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, at the Campton Methodist Church of which Aunt Nan was one of the oldest members. Hearne Funeral Home was in charge of the burial service. She was the wife of the late Judge G.T. Centers of Stillwater and is survived by three children. A son, George Center of Lexington, and two daughters, Mrs. Millie Brewer and Mrs. B. Rose, both of Stillwater. Three grandchildren, A.C. Elkins of Elkins and Rose, Stillwater is one and George's two children the others. Some great grandchildren. Aunt Nan was an ardent Christian all her life and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
