MAN KILLED, 7 HURT IN SUNDAY ACCIDENT	

A Wolfe County man was killed and seven of his relatives were injured 
in a auto accident Sunday afternoon at two P.M. about seven miles east 
of Hazel Green on highway 191.

Montgomery Banks, about 55 of Gillmore, died of a broken neck, Herman 
Hull, manager of Hearne Funeral Home, Campton said.

The injured, all admitted to the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington; 
were Mrs. Chole Banks, 30 of Gillmore, wife of the dead man, cut on 
forehead and with possible head and collarbone fractures.  Listed in fair 
condition.

Dexter Banks, 7 fracured left leg, good condition, Glenn Banks, 
possible head injury and possible fracture jaw.  Condition serious, age 
unknown.

Asbury Banks, 82, also of Gillmore, both legs fractured and multiple 
face cuts.  Condition serious.

Miss Elizabeth Banks, 15 of Rosefork, forehead and left knee cuts and a 
possible heard injury, condition fair.

Mrs. Sophia Banks, 38, Rosefork, injured in right leg and possible rib 
fracture.  Listed as in good condition.

George Banks, 48, Rosefork, cut left eyelid and possible head injury.  
Listed in fair condition.

Hull said the accident occurred after a front tire blew out.  The car 
jumped a shallow ditch beside the road and ran into a field.  The car 
did not overturn and did not hit any object, Hull said.
