Obituary: Gibbs, Willa Mae (Brewer) - Wednesday, February 18, 2009 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** GIBBS, Willa Mae Brewer (Granny) Age 88 of Miamisburg went home to be with the Lord and to rejoin her husband, the late Rev. Wendell R. Gibbs on Heaven's bright shores February 18. She was preceded in death by her daughter Christine Stuart and two great grandchildren, Joshua Creech and Amanda Jo Stuart, brother David Walters and sister Lillian Bollinger, plus her best friend Vergie Gibbs. She is survived by her daughters Betty (Ralph) Vuotto of West Carrollton, Barbara Jo Young of Miamisburg and son David (Roz) Gibbs of Florida, she was granny to 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Diane Carpenter and two brothers-in- law Wilgus Gibbs and James Earl Gibbs. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Willa Mae was the Matriarch of this Gibbs clan. She ruled. She was your best friend, your confidant, and your "port in a storm". Always there to give you encouragement, praise and love, so much love. She loved to read, travel and cook. The family is blessed with so many precious memories of this "special lady". She frequently quoted her late husbands remark, "my last breath here, my next breath is in Heaven. What a glorious reunion she will have with her family members who are waiting for her inside the gate. She loved her family with all her heart and she will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 19 with services at 7:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. James Earl Gibbs. Family will receive friends in Daysboro Kentucky at Daysboro Christian Church at 11:00, Friday, February 20. She will join her husband in the Gibbs family cemetery in Gilmore, Kentucky.
