Obituary: Barker, Eugenia Garnet (Cable) - Friday, May 15, 2009 Published in The Middletown Journal on 5/16/2009 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** BARKER, Eugenia Garnet age 93, of Englewood, formerly of Middletown, passed away Friday morning at the Englewood Manor Nursing Center. She was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky, November 24, 1915, the daughter of Casper and Rose (Smyth) Cable. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church, she was an accomplished seamstress, and loved board games and square dancing. Her husband, Rodney Barker, preceded her in death in 1986, and she was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Becker; and a brother, Raymond Cable. Survivors include 2 sons, Marvin Barker of Vandalia, OH, and Gary Barker of Aurora, CO; a daughter, Mary Barker Pardonner of Saugerties, NY; 7 grandchildren, and 13 greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Keith Cable; and 2 sisters, Edith Cooper and Ruby Glen Lovelace. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 20, at the Woodside Cemetery Chapel, officiated by Pastor Kenneth Fey. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time on Wednesday.
