He had crawled under his truck and was removing a spring when the spring slipped against the jack placed under the bed, causing it to fall. The heavy truck bed killed Mr. Ely instantly. Surviving are his widow, Nina, a son and daughter, Carl and Susie, all of Picohe; and his mother, Mrs. W.R. Olinger and a sister, Mrs. Marshall Matley and Robert Ely, a brother, all of Reno, Nevada and his father, Carl Ely of Gilmore, Wolfe County, Ky. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 9th by the Elks lodge of Cedar City, Utah and was widely attended.
