Obituary: Banks, Orbain - Wednesday, December, 31, 2008 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** BANKS, Orbain age 87, formerly of 2102 Howard Avenue, Middletown, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born August 24, 1921 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, the son of Dewey Banks and Ida (Perdue) Banks. He retired in 1985 from Armco Steel as a pump master after 42 years of service. Mr. Banks was a 40-year member of the Christian Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Knights of Pythias. He enjoyed swapping knives at City Centre Mall and his favorite sport was baseball, and he loved the Reds. He and his wife could often be found after 6:00 PM having coffee with friends at McDonalds. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Verna (Lockard) Banks; one daughter, Teresa Ramsey of Middletown; one son, Stanley (wife, Sharon) Banks of Middletown; five grandchildren, Doug Banks, Orbain "Opie" Banks, Donald "Tooter" (wife, Sarah) Banks, Matthew Black, Zack Ramsey; seven great grandchildren, Dakota and Dalton Banks, Christopher "Bert" Banks, Adrianna Banks, Abby Banks; one sister, Betty Turner of Pennsylvania; and a daughter-in-law, Jeannie (wife of Dewey Banks) Banks of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Don Banks and Dewey Lee Banks; sisters, Zelma Miller and Merandy Banks; and a brother, John Junior Banks. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Reed officiating. Visitation will be 4-6:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at the Woodside Cemetery Mausoleum.
