Obituary: Curtis, Thomas - Saturday, April 24, 1920 The Clay City Times - April 29, 1920 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Thomas Curtis, Sr., 47 died at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Sat., at 2 p.m. from burns he received the day previous while employed by The Old Dominion Oil Co on Big Sinking. His remains were shipped here Saturday, where they remained until Monday morning, and reshipped to Evans, Wolfe county, for interment. Mr. Curtis was born and reared near Clay City, where he has many friends to deplore his untimely death. He is survived by a widow and five children of Wolfe county, one sister, of Lee county, and four brothers of this county, namely; Levi, Elledge, Benjamin and Morris. The last two named and Mrs. H.M. Curtis accompanied the deceased body to its final resting place. NOTE: Thomas Curtis was married to Barbara Ellen Allen d/o Granville Allen and Salina Bailey The children were: Ernest, Jesse, Thomas Frank, Myrtle and Janie.
