Obituary: Johnson, Nora Bryant- Sunday, September 9, 2007 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Nora Bryant Johnson, of Danville, died Sunday, September 09, 2007, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born in Rogers, KY, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Myles P. and Hattie Spencer Bryant. She was a homemaker and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson was known as "Mamaw" to many different children that she babysat through the years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, babysitting, and reading Billy Graham books. She also was known for giving out free loaves of bread to her many neighbors and friends. Survivors include her son, Jim (Doodle) Johnson of Danville; daughter, Linda (Danny) Morin of Danville; sister, Opal Lewis of Lexington; grandchildren, Jami (Tom) Springer, Josh (Sarah) Johnson, and Levi Morin; great-grandchildren, Alex and Hannah Springer; step-granddaughter, Sarah (Paul) Rodrigues; step great-granddaughter, Elena Rodrigues; and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Johnson, and ten brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Craig Bell, Dennis Wheeler, Charlie Perry, Johnny Sheene, Jimmie Lair, and Todd Smothers. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
