Obituary: Chandler, Beulah M. (Combs) - Wednesday, May 9, 2007 The Middletown Journal on 5/11/2007. Age 84, of Middletown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Baptist, Kentucky on May 7, 1923 to parents Willie Matson and Mary Alice (Hayes) Combs. Mrs. Chandler began working for Armco Steel Corp. as a furnace tender during World War II, retiring nine years later, in 1952. In her youth, she was an active athlete. She was an active bowler in the Middletown area for a number of years, bowling at Eastern Lanes, and was a member of Middletown Senior Citizens. Beulah is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (Stephen) Burch of Alexandria, IN; a son, Thomas H. (Pamela) Chandler of Hillsboro, OH; brother, William (Ival) Combs of Middletown; four grandchildren, Matthew Burch, Christopher Burch, Kaitlin Burch, and Emma Chandler; and 2 great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Chandler in 1986; her parents; and numerous brothers & sisters. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend Steve Fultz officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
