Jim Cook, 87, of Southville, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Crestview Nursing Home in Shelby County.

His survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Morgan of Shelbyville and Mrs. Jewell Casey of Mt. Eden; and three sons, Millard Cook of Southville, C. W. Cook of Taylorsville and Lewis Cook of Southville.

He had 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held this afternoon at Shannon Funeral Home and burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Other arrangements were incomplete at press time.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Stan Chaney yesterday at Ricketts Funeral Home in Eminence for Mrs. Virginia Jean LaFollette Lucas, 47, who died Thursday, Nov. 3, at St. Anthony’s in Louisville.

She was a resident of Eminence where she was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Charles: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed LaFollotte of Cropper; daughter, Mrs. Patricia McCarthy of Shelbyville; a son, Jackie of Eminence; one grandchild; and two brothers, Calvin of Simpsonville and Prentice LaFollottee of Louisville.

Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Harry Sanford, 80, died at 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at the Hanover Nursing Home in Hanover, Ind.

The body was taken to Shannon Funeral Home and burial will be in Grove Hill.

Mrs. Emma Kate Rogers McGaughey, 80, died Thursday, Nov. 3, at Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Louisville.

She was a native of Spencer County and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Arnold of Todd’s Point; two sons, Filmore of Shelbyville and Hubert of Lyndon; a daughter, Mrs. Troy Bratcher of Todd’s Point; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucy Fisher of Jeffersontown, Addie Cook of Finchville and George McGaughey of Waddy and a brother, Albert Rogers of Shepherdsville.

The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Shannon Funereal Home with the Rev. Roy Lyons officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
