John Will Cheak
Dies On Friday
John Will Cheak, 85,
died Friday, Dec. 10, at his residence on State Road East. He was a
farmer and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and Mt.
Eden Lodge No. 263 F. & A. M. He was a son of John S. and Ann
Eliza Hammonds Cheak. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hollie
Stevens, Shelbyville, and several nieces and nephews.
Rev. Virgil Fryman
conducted services Monday morning at the church. Shannon Funeral
Home in charge and burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Dempsey Infant Died
At Home
Richard Edward
Dempsey, 5 week old son of James and Janet Hawkins Dempsey, 27
Westview Drive was found dead at 4 am last Friday.
Surviving besides his
parents are two brothers, Jesse Carroll Landers, Jr. and Christopher
Allen Landers, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Hawkins,
Eastwood, and Mrs. Ann Burgin, New Liberty, Ky.
Funeral services were
conducted at 10 am Saturday from Hall-Taylor Funeral Home by Rev.
Virgil Fryman. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Marcellus
Scruggs, 88 Died At His Home
Marcellus
Scruggs, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, about 5 a.m. at his home
in Finchville. He was born in Henry County and was a retired
distillery employee.
He is survived by
his wife, Mrs. Annie Lee Wise Scruggs, Finchville, two sons,
Fletcher Scruggs, Eastwood, Ralph Scruggs, Shelbyville, seven
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Bert Scruggs,
Shelbyville.
Services will be
held Friday morning at 11:00 at Shannon Funeral Home. Rev.
Kenneth Shouse officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill
Cemetery.

William B. Frye Dies on Thursday
William Busey Frye,
71, died suddenly at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, December 9, at his home
near Bagdad. He was a native of Shelby County, a farmer and a
veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Beulah Clarke Frye, Bagdad, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Lee,
Louisville, a son, Bill Frye, Versailles, and five grandchildren.
Rev. James Smith conducted services Saturday morning at Hall Taylor
Funeral Home and burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were
Froman Fry, Jimmy Metcham, Johnny Tindall, Roger Bailey, Clayton
Bohannon and John Young.

Mrs. Young Dies Tuesday
Mrs. Allie Whitehouse
Young, 75, widow of L. Roma Young, died Tuesday, December 14, at 7
a.m. at her residence at Peytona. She was a member of the Mt. Zion
Christian Church, Franklin County.
She is survived by
three nephews, Edward Tharp Jr., Frankfort, and James A. Tharp and
Archie Tharp, both of Columbus, and a niece, Arcie R. Ryan, also of
Columbus.
Services will be held
at Shannon Funeral Home Thursday (today) at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the
Bagdad Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be
Marshall Young, Earl Moore, C. C. Ryan Jr., James A. Tharp, Archie
Tharp, and Edward Tharp, Jr.

Ray Wilson Dies
Tuesday
Ray Wesley Wilson, 37,
Indianapolis, died at 9 pm Tuesday, December 7, at Veterans Hospital,
Indianapolis.
Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Sue Wilson, three daughters, Misses Ann, Lynn, and Rhonda
Rae Wilson, all of Indianapolis, and his mother, Mrs. Edith Adcock,
Shelbyville.
Services were held
Friday at Farley’s Funeral Home and burial was in the Eminence
Cemetery.
