William Riddle Dies At Hospital - Well
Known Former Garage Operator - James William Riddle, 64, well
known farmer and former garage operator, who resided south of
Shelbyville, died at 8 p.m. last Friday at the King's Daughters
Hospital. Mr. Riddle was a native of Shelby and a son of the
late William and Annie Finney Riddle. He was well known here,
where for eighteen years he was in the garage business.
Mr. Riddle was a member of the Shelbyville Christian Church and a
gentleman who commanded and held the respect of all. A good
husband and father, kind and loyal friend and neighbor. Mr. Riddle
will be pleasantly remembered by all.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Daisy
Bell Riddle; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Stratton, Lubbock, TX; and
Mrs. William Bohannon, Jr, Shelbyville; 2 sons, William W. Riddle,
St. Matthews and James D. Riddle, Lakeland, Ga.; seven
grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. John Miller, Shelbyville; Mrs.
Jessie Clampett, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Howard Bramlett, Harrod's
Creek; and Mrs. Irvin Huffman, Lexington; 3 brothers, Ernest
Riddle, Brandenburg; L. M. Riddle, Shelbyville; and George Riddle,
Carlisle. Funeral services conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday from
Hall-Taylor Funeral Home by Rev. Raymond Lawrence. Interment
followed at Grove Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers J. E. Hundley,
Phil McMullan, George Rose, Dona Skelton, Charles Davis and
Charles Blackmore.
