Cumberland Gap is the venue for this. The Gap was a vital location for the westward movement in the late 1700’s as the eastern and New England states pioneers jumped on the Wilderness Trail starting in Augusta County, Va. Pioneers from Pennsylvania, New York, Etc following the Trail.

With a estimated 50 million Americans that have ties to the area, just about every state and county has ancestors that passed through the Gap.

Take a walk into the past with our traditional crafters showing how our ancestors made items to use in basic life tasks, and visit the different Native Americans with their wares.

The 4th Annual Genealogy Jamboree is pleased to announce the return after 240 yrs. of Daniel Boone and the Axe Men that cut the Wilderness Road.

They will start at Martin Station in Va. and will arrive in the Gap at 12 noon to 2 p.m. and then head over the Mountain to Kentucky. The public will be able to fall in behind Boone and the axe men and proceed up the Boone Trace Trail and walk in the footstep of our ancestors.

There will be family reunions of the Goin/Goins family, and the Massengill (all spellings) for more information go to our web site at www.genealogyjamboree.us or email: roger@genealogyjamboree.us or email: mark@genealogyjamboree.us
