Be it known to all persons that I William Stogsdill being old & infirm & feeble in Body but Sound in mind & Intelect but Knowing from the Course of nature, that my time is not long in this World I here leave my last Will and Testament which is as follows (towit) my Will and Desire is that at my Decease that my first Survey of land Except apart that now belongs to Shad Stogsdill shall be Equally Divided as to Valuation between my two Grandaughters Dice Lasly & Sally Eaton & their Children forever and I hereby Entail the same to them and their Children to have and to hold forever In Witness Whereof I hereunto fix my hand and seal the day and date above written signed & sealed

At a County Court held for the County aforesaid at the Courthouse thereof in the Town of Somerset on monday the 16th day of April 1849 This writing purporting to be the last Will and testament of William Stogsdill De'd was this day produced in Court and proven by the oaths of John Bobbitt and Thomas Cox Subscribing Witnesses thereto to be the act and Deed of the said William Stogsdill De'd and being Examined and approved of by the Court was ordered to be Recorded and the same is done accordingly
