I am searching for information on Beauford (possibly Bluford)
Toms (Tomes), born February 16, 1814 in Pulaski County, KY -
married Rebecca Baker - 1836 - place unknown. I have no
information about his parents or siblings - it is believed that
his family may have originally come from Virginia. Any

THOMPSON/NORTON

Looking for information on James Thompson/Margaret (Peggy) Norton
living in Pulaski Co., from approx. 1800-1828. James and Peggy
married in Wayne Co. in 1804. Her guardian gave consent for
Peggy's marriage. They moved to Perry Co., Illinois in 1828. I am
also interested Alexander Thompson who married Mary Norton and
Leonard Thompson who married Elizabeth Norton. They also may have
married in Wayne Co., but James and Alexander lived next door to
each other in Pulaski Co. I think Messor Norton was the father of
Mary and Elizabeth. Did brothers marry sisters?

THey had a child Roxie Evans in Oklahoma. Mary died of TB in Oklahoma. Would like to correspond with anyone that has any

Amanda COOMER (1847-1913) m. Isaac HALCOM and lived near
Tateville, Pulaski Co., KY. Both are buried at the Tateville
Cemetery. Amanda was the daughter of Richard COOMER (abt
1809-unk) and Sarah "Sally" TAYLOR (1816-unk). They had 8
children. I am looking for identities of Richard COOMER's parents
and those of Sarah TAYLOR.

Elias Clark, born in Somerset, KY (Pulaski County) February 22,
1854. His father, Benjamin Clark and mother, Martha Kelly had 11
or 12 childrn: Annette, William, Elias, Naomi, Robert, Lucy,
Addie, twins, Benjamin and Martha, Tom and Jim.. Any information
on Benjamin and Martha would be greatly appreciated.

Pulaski Co. - My GF was Willard Parton, GGF was Charles Parton,
GGGF Matthew Parton and GGGGF was James Parton married to Delilah
Henderson (I have her last name as Anderson). Most of the info I
have came from my Great Aunt Ida Marie Parton. Last time I talked
with her was 1990.
I currently live in South Mississippi and have access to a great
Geneology section at the library here. They should have a pretty
extensive French-Cajun section! From the looks of it we're
probably cousins! Please contact me for further info. me for
further info.

To clarify the family I am researching, Thomas Lee came to
Pulaski County from Madison County, settling on 120 acres
adjacent to relatives Richard and George Lee. In 1816 Thomas sold
his claim to William Herren. Apparently the same year a Thomas
Lee Jr. helped survey a claim for Charles Lee.
It is believed that both Thomas Lees were in Bedford Co.,
Tennessee in the 1830s. Other sons of Thomas Sr. were apparently
Jesse and Grissom, and perhaps Peter.
Are you familiar with the Lees? Please tell me more about your
Jenney Lee - her husband, places of residence, death, possible
siblings, etc.

I descend from Stephen Lee and Ann Poor of Pulaski Co. who had a
son, Thomas Lee, b. abt 1765 d. Jan 1839 married Jerisha Hough
Aug 15, 1788. My ancestor would be Seaton Lee, brother of Thomas.

Looks like we're from different Lee families. My Stephen Lee came
to Pulaski Co., KY from Henry Co., VA on a land grant of 200
acres on Fishing Creek in 1799. About 1806, he received 200 acres
more on King's Creek.

I descend from George Lee who died in 1803 in Madison County. His
relative Thomas Lee was probably a son of Peter Lee from
Washington Co., Virginia.

I'm looking for information on my great grandparents William
Moses Thompson (went by Moses) and Margaret Emily Tackett
(went by Emily or Emma). I don't have birthdates on either
of them. Moses was killed after 1892 over a disagreement in a poker
game.Emily died after 1942. I found the family in the 1880 Pulaski
County Census. They had one child, Charley
in 1880. He was a year old. The rest of the children were
Jim, Ollie, Walter, Louise and Clarence. After Moses was
killed, Emily married Elijah Walker, who had 2 children of
his own, Hugh and Arizona. If you have information on this

I have no birth date for Jenney Lee,but since her marriage date

My grandfather, Milford Elliott Doolin, C.S.A. was born 19 July
1845 in Pulaski Co., KY, son of Elizabeth Ann Taylor b. 1823,
daughter of Nancy Knox Doolin and (2nd husband) Edward Taylor.
Elizabeth Ann later married J.M. Perkins. Elizabeth Ann's half
brother was Thomas M. Doolin (b.29 Dec. 1802-d. 22 Nov. 1871,
buried Pulaski Co.). Who were the parents of his wife Mel
Reynolds? Who are their children? Where are Elizabeth Ann Taylor
Perkins and J. M. Perkins buried? Who did their daughter Nannie
T. Perkins marry? Who are their other children - if any? Is there
any other information on Elizabeth Ann's half-sister, Pernetta
Doolin (b. 1816 who married Vincent Garner), and/or half brother
Cornelius Dooling b 10 July 1813. He married on 18 Feb. 1841
Pulaski Co., KY dbl first cousin Nancy Doolin who is buried
in Osgood, MO. Who are their children? o are their children?

I am a StePHens descendant through my grandmother Elena Abagail
StePHens and also related to the Roys through the many marriages
between these families in Pulaski Co, KY.
I have information on this particular family and will write to
you when I get home. I have been researching the StePHens family
for many years. It is spelled Stephens, not Stevens. Glad to
share what I have with anyone else.

Andrew SMILEY married Oma ALEXANDER Sept 12, 1844 in Pulaski Co.,
Ky. After Oma's death he married Lucinda Meece. When did Andrew
die and where is he buried? Oma ALEXANDER was the daughter of
William and Mary (Hargis?) ALEXANDER.

I think you may find about a drawer full of research on the
Dye/Westley,Barber/Randolph/Watson/Black families at the Casey
County Library in Liberty, Ky.
If this is the Christina Westley and Charles Barber that are
buried at Mt Hope(Lizzard Lope) Cem. Pulaski Co KY we probably
connect because their dau Isabelle married William "Bill"
Randolph 5 Mar 1850 Pulaski Co. Ky.

My g grandmother was Sarah Elizabeth Davis (Sister to your
grandfather, Robert Davis.) She married William Cassada (brother
to your g grandfather, Samuel Monroe Cassada.)
I have found John Davis' parents, Robert Davis & Elizabeth Martin
in the 1880 Pulaski County Census. They are living with their
youngest daughter and her husband, Marion Carrell.
I have a fair amount of information on the Davis', Loveall's,
Martin's and Robert's. Is there a paticular piece of information
you are looking for?

STROXTILE/STROXDILE: William, looking for father of William.
Mother's name was Rose. William was born 1847 in Russell Co.
Also information on the wife and children of John Stroxdal
born about between 1811 to 1820. William m. Nancy Ann Macklin
in Pulaskie co. in 1869 and raised thier children in Pulaskie
county. I found John Stroxdal in the 1840 Pulaskie county census.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I discovered over the weekend that most of my ancestors have
apparently resided in the Pulaski Co., (Somerset) area..the
following names are relative (no pun intended) to my search.
James Parton and Delilah Henderson married and had Matthew Flloyd
Parton in Somerset,Ky...He married Celia Balzora (where is
Balzora from??anybody??!!) Celia Balzora Leigh. Her parents were
Henry Leigh (from where?!) and Antoinette Trimble Balzora (unique
first name French?Creole?..doesn't matter but I'm not just
curious since the only Balzoras I can find are French Creole.
Antoinette Trimble Balzora and Henry were married in Nancy, KY
supposedly on 14 Feb 187?. I'm searching for Antoinette's mother
and father and Henry Leigh's mother and father as well as any
siblings. James Parton (who married Delilah Henderson) had a ton
of brothers and sisters (didn't everyone back then?) Brother's
were Napolean, John and Marshall Parton with John and Marshall
dying in a Confederate Prison in Andersonville, GA in 1863 (?)
Their sister's Amelia, Cissy(or chrisie?), and Molly married who
knows who. One of those sister's married a man named MacKinley
Kantor. I searched but can't find any of those women with the
last named Kantor. Kantor's mother and Matthew Floyd Parton's
father James Parton were brother and sister it is thought..it is
also darn confusing!! Matthew and Celia had John W. Parton, Ida
(who later married Noble Loveless(there is a researcher on the
internet searching for this information here it is..I tried to
e-mail JHarlan605@aol.com and got no where) Ida Parton was my
Great Aunt..she was my grandpa Jay Eastel Parton's Aunt. Ida had
a child named Kit Loveless (I thought) Anyway, John W. Parton,
Ellsworth, Charles, Green, (Louis Green), Ida and Clara (who were
supposed to be twins). John W. Parton was killed by being tossed
out of an 8-story window during a gambling dispute. John W.
Parton married a Dora Helton whose father was Joab (or Joe Abe)
Helton (or Hilton?) and no one seems to know who her momma was.
They had my granpa Jay, Charles A. Parton, and Herman Parton
(THere is a half-brother named Plase Helton somewhere (Dora
Parton married before?) If anyone can help get my address and get
in touch please. I am mildly obsessed with finding out any
information about any of these people ASAP. I am going to
Frankfort, KY in September to perform research..does anyone have
any ideas? Thanks and happy searching! P.S. I sort of feel like
Alice in Wonderland here..it all gets curiouser and curiouser...

am looking for the family history of their children and own down.
Lenord and Lucy are my great, great, grandparents out of Pulaski
County. The Lenord Roy was born in cumberland River 20 miles s.w.
of somerset Kentucky.

Lucy (stevens)-born-8-11-1825-died-12-3-1908

I have info that there is a Lucinda Vaught, dau. of Issac Vaught,
who was the son of Henry, born about this time. My records show
her birth as mid to late 1820's, but I could be wrong.

Bonnie, I only have info on Malalia (Mahala). She was born 12
June, 1827, married Lindsey Robert Colyer 2 June, 1872, and died
30 July, 1901. All in Pulaski County. She was Lindsey's second
wife and they had no children that I know of. My mother was a
Pulaski County Colyer and her first church was Soules Chapel.

DILLENDER/PARRIS

My mother was born in PULASKI County. Her father was James
DILLENDER and her mother was Elizabeth Nola PARRIS. They were
married in Tennessee but I don't think they actually ever lived
there. James DILLENDER died in Evansville,IN. Does anyone know
anything about these two families???

Gene, I am also working on Woolseys in Pulaski County. I have
grandmother, Lillie Jane Woolsey Colyer, daughter of Samuel T.
Woolsey and Catherine Moore. Samuel was the son of Enoch B.
Woolsey and Mary (Polly) Bryan. That is as far as I have been
able to get. There was also Aaron Woolsey married to Sarah Jane
Gilliland, that we think was Enoch's brother. This we don't know
for sure. Be glad to share with you and help anyway I can.

My grandfather, Robert "Bob" DAVIS, was b. Sept. 7, 1874
in Pulaski Co., Ky and d. Aug. 2, 1951 in Pulaski Co., KY. He
married Lutie CASADA on May 24, 1897 in Pulaski Co., KY. His
parents are John W. DAVIS and Malinda LOVEALL.
John W. DAVIS was b. Oct. 12, 1836 in Pulaski Co., KY and d. Apr.
2, 1909 in Pulaski Co., KY. He married Malinda LOVEALL on Oct. 9,
1856 in Pulaski Co., KY. His parents are Bobby DAVIS and
Elizabeth MARTIN.
Malinda LOVEALL was b. Sept. 20, 1835 in Wayne Co., KY and d.
Jan. 20, 1915 in Pulaski Co., KY. Her parents were Dutton LOVEALL
and Sarah ROBERTS.
Bobby DAVIS was b. 1805 in NC and d. after 1860 in Pulaski Co.,
KY. He m. Elizabeth MARTIN on April 18, 1831 in Pulaski Co., KY.
Elizabeth was b. 1806 in KY and D. after 1860 in Pulaski Co., KY.
I am interested in any information on these family members.

The Rev. Thomas WOOLSEY, a Baptist preacher, and his wife Sarah
(Sarah PIERCE?)came to Virginia in 1771, where he was admitted
in 1772 "from a church in New York". Their son Richard WOOLSEY was

Richard WOOLSEY was in the Revolutionary War, enlisted at New
Windsor "on the North river on Hudson's" in 1775/1776. He was
born in 1747 and his wife was 68 years old in 1823. Richard
WOOLSEY and Nancy PLUMSTEAD came to Washington County, Virginia,
where his father, the Rev. Thomas WOOLSEY was settled on the
"South Fork of the Holstein river", and then Richard and Nancy
came to Pulaski and Jessamine Counties, Kentucky, possibly around
1800. Can anyone document any of this family? I can document all
of above except Richard WOOLSEY and Nancy PLUMSTEAD'S marriage. I

William Burton and Elizabeth Burton, lived in Pulaski County,
Kentucky in the early 19th century. William died in 1814, Pulaski
County. I am seeking documentation concerning them, their
ancestors, and descendants. Their son, Arthur Burton (1794-1855)
is my ancestor. Arthur's wife was Elizabeth Tarter Burton (born
ca. 1796 and died after 1849). Arthur and Elizabeth were both
born in Virginia. They probably died in Adair County, Kentucky. I
would like to assuredly learn who William's parents were,
William's wife's maiden name, and Elizabeth Tarter Burton's

times.My g-g-grandfather was also Wyatt,however,mine was born

Co., died 1945 in Pulaski Co., married Laura Ellen Harris 1889.
His parents were William Linsey Ashbrook & Mary Frances Lynch. He
was raised by the Lynch family as both parents had died by the
time he was 8.

Seeking information on Samuel PENNINGTON who was born in Pulaski
Co. in 1828 and married Martha WALLS in 1848 before moving to
Missouri about 1852. Samuel's mother is listed on Samuel's
marriage papers as "Tabitha Hardwick, mother of Samuel
Pennington". Tabitha got the Hardwick name by marrying Samuel
Hardwick, who by 1852 was married to the next door lady named
Troxell. I believe Samuel was grandson of Wells Pennington and
nephew of Arad and Theophilus Pennington. Was Tabitha the
daughter of Wells? Where is she buried? The old homeplace was
Cedar Sinking Creek. Martha Walls was d/o James and Polly BAUGH
walls, both bur. at Tateville. Was Polly BAUGH Walls d/o Henry
BAUGH?

THOMAS, Linsey/Minsey(it has been spelled both ways
in records) came from N.C. to Pulaski Co.,Ky. about 1850.
His first wife was Polly Roberts. His second wife was
Anna Taylor whom I believe he married after coming to Ky.
Linsey was born about 1814. His children were:Nancy,
Susan Jane m. Isaac Worley, William, and Polly. This family
lived in the Sawyers section of Pulaski Co.-what now is
in McCreary Co.Need burial place and to contact others researching
this family.
OWENS,George Washington. Am told by some he had connection
to the Coffey family in Wayne and Pulaski Counties. Need to
contact other researchers.

Believe his father might have been a David SMITH?
Believe they were descended from the old German
Peter Smith who settled in Rowan Co.,NC and died
there c. 1775. I believe his descendents including my ancestor
who was b. NC ca. through Pulaski Co.,from
Rowan Co.,NC.
Have heard of a book which I cannot locate:
"The Smith's and Their Kin of Pulaski County Ky"
( Descs. of Peter Smith who d. in Rowan Co.,NC
in 1775).
Would appreciate any help I can get. This has been
a stone wall for me since there was another Smith

that info on John Murphy as he married whom I think is a sister
to a Gibson I am researching. The info I sent was obtained from

Thanks for replying to my Hughes-Stringer query. I'm just getting
started so my info is limited. Kisiah (Stringer) Hughes was
in Wayne Co. Ky in 1860 acording to the census records she was 31.
Sometime after Calvin died in 1862 she moved to Pulaski Co. Ky
and shows up on the 1870 census. After that I have lost her. One
census shows her born in Indiana and another says Kentucky. I do
think she may have had a brother named Richard. Thats all the
info I have on her, hope it looks familiar to you.

not.Greenberry Murphy was born about 1830 in Pulaski Co. He
married Charlotte Huddleston in Fentress Co,Tn. He also lived
in Adair and Cumberland Co,Ky.He had a brother named Andrew Jackson

There are a few of us working on the STRINGER family surname. My
EDMUND STRINGER went to Bullitt Co, but his brother REUBEN was
in Pulaski Co as early as 1810 census, but then disappears. Both
Edmund and Reuben were the sons of Edward Stringer, Edmund by his
first wife, most likely, and Reuben, by his second. Do you have

The Cornelius Burton that you mention is in my genealogy family.
He married Elizabeth Warp who was daughter of Larkin E. Warp but
who is her mother?
John Robert Curry was my gggrandfather. His father was Samuel
Jackson Curry who married Scynthann Orr. Samuel Jackson Curry's
father was William Curry, Jr. Samuel's mother was Malinda
Pendleton. Scythiann's parents were Alexander Orr and Bureela
Judd. Malinda's parents were John Pendleton Sr. and Molly
Elizabeth Brunner(I believe).
Are you relative to Don and Delia Wells in Ohio?
If so then we are related. Waiting to hear from you.
