of  Belleville, MI, formerly of Chelsea, age 87, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at her sister's home in Chelsea after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving sister, Wilma Picklesimer and beloved niece Thea Picklesimer and her niece Nancy Bevins whom she refereed to as her third daughter. She was born April 20, 1921 in Loyall, Kentucky, the daughter of Carter H. and Nancy (Bingham) Farley.  Disa retired from Federal Screw Works in Chelsea in 1976 and was a former member of High Street Baptist Church in Somerset, KY. She moved from Chelsea to Belleville in 1985.  She was an avid conversationalist, card player and she loved to travel. She also like to crochet and made many gifts for friends and family. In retirement she visited numerous points of interest in the United Stated with tour groups.  On December 14, 1935, Disa married Loran W. Vickrey in Keith, KY and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1980. Survivors include her daughter Brenda L. (Kenneth) Mullins of Tavares, FL; one sister, Wilma Picklesimer of Chelsea; 2 grandsons Gerald & Phillip; 1 great-granddaughter Ashley; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter Nowanna Patrica Fletcher; 4 brothers, Curtis, Lawrence, Luther and Hurlen; and 2 sisters, Adah Farley and Ethel Williams.  The family received friends at the Cole Funeral in Chelsea, MI on Saturday, Nov. 1, with a funeral at 11:00 am, with Pastor Dominic Aquilino officiating. Burial was Monday, Nov. 3, 11:00 am at Science Hill Cemetery, Science Hill, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
