Goochtown.  Everything is looking gloomy at this writing, like a bad winter spell is on hand … Earl Sturgeon left Wednesday for Detroit to work on the street car.  He receives 70 cents per hour for his work.  His wife is improving … Miss Nell Eubanks visited home folks Saturday night and Sunday … Mr. Will Pumphrey and family visited Walter Osborne, Sr., Sunday … Rev. J.L. Davis preached a proportion of the Bible Sunday and Sunday night at Estes …. Will Pumphrey purchased another horse last week … Ott and Caldona Reynolds visited Edgar Wheeldon Saturday night … Brack Payne has become a member on the Farmer Telephone line.

New Bethel.  Mr. and Mrs. Fred Prather visited Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Prather Saturday night and Sunday … Mrs. Callie Bolin visited Mrs. Helen Bolin Saturday … Fred Prather was in Somerset Saturday on business … Fount Bolin will ship a bunch of cattle today …. Mr. and Mrs. Coy Abbott have their new house completed and will move this week … Uncle John Girdler will saw the logs for Mrs. Mattie Prather this week to rebuild her house … Rev. J.S. Abbott is no better at this writing … Mrs. Wash Brewster is able to walk across the house without her crutches after a confinement of about 3 months … Lonnie Hudson returned from Indiana where he had been winding up his business.  He says he lost a lot on this property

Cave Hill.   Mr. George Smith spent Saturday night with Mr. Dave Easterly … Several of the boys attended the entertainment at Mt. Zion Friday night … Mr. Emmett Higgins and family of Briery spent Saturday night and Sunday with his father, M. Higgins … Millard Wesley visited at Elmer Burton's Sunday afternoon … Mrs. Sallie Smith visited her daughter Mrs. Flora Estes Sunday … Mrs. Maude Smith has been on the sick list, but is some better … Misses Martha and Lola Wilson called on Mrs. Maude Smith Friday afternoon … Chester Wilson took dinner with Claude Wilson Sunday … E.L. Smith and W.S. Wilson were in Somerset Tuesday on business … Ed Smith's spent one night last week at G.S. Smith's … The singing closed at Charter Oak last Sunday …. Mr. Harvey Smith returned from Decatur, Ill., last week … Rev. Crough failed to fill his appointment at Sardis Saturday night and Sunday … Mr. Gideon Back, of Knox County, visited his brother, Mr. Harvey Back … Miss Vesta Back left with her brother Sunday for Knox County her home … The ladies of Briery gave Erastus Vaught a surprise social last Tuesday.  They demanded that he should cook their dinner for them, to which demand he responded and spread before them a nice dinner.  It was enjoyed by all …. Mrs. J.R. Pleasant gave a social entertainment and dinner in honor of Miss Vesta Back Thursday who was going home.  Everybody had a good time and enjoyed the occasion … Rev. Geo. Thompson's singing closed Sunday at Charter Oak.

Wilson Chapel.  Uncle Warren Baugh is better at this writing … Ansel Adams and Earl Wilson attended the singing at Charter Oak Saturday night … Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henderson of Cincinnati are with her mother Mrs. General Hardwick … Flonnie Roberts and children spent Thursday night with A.J. Wilson's … Geo. Smith spent Saturday night at W.R. Esterly's … Dan Cox has moved his chicken to Estel Godby's …. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Cox spent Saturday night with her father, J.B. Girdler.

Ingle.  We are enjoying some very fine weather … Mr. Oscar Brown sold a farm to Mr. Bradley for about $1,800 … Mr. Oscar Brown bought a farm from Mr. G. Gossett for about $2,000 … Misses Gertrude and Ida Kissee visited at Rev. Aaron Wilson's Sunday … Mrs. Floy Kissee is worse at this time … Mrs. Elizabeth Allen is worse at this writing …. Mr. W.E. Delk and family visited at Mr. Jefferson Brown's Sunday … Mr. Arch Davenport and Mr. Otha Coffey shipped their tobacco to Lexington Saturday to be placed on the market … Mr. A.T. Roy, Mr. G.A. Tarter and Mr. J.A. Roy shipped their tobacco to Lexington to be placed on the market … Farmers are plowing for their spring crops …Mr. T.L. Pitman and wife spent the greater part of last week with relatives in Russell County … Mrs. Della Schoolcraft and Mrs. Lucy Roy are better at this time … Mr. Oscar Pitman of Casey County was in this part last week.

Bent.  Rev. J.W. Steele attended the new church near Meece, Sunday … The revival meeting at Piney Grove closed Sunday night with several additions to the church … Misses Kisarah Phelps, Lela Hargis and Lexie Steele visited Mrs. Reuben Childers Sunday … Miss Nora Childers spent the weekend with her sisters, Mrs. Geo. Baker and Mrs. Perry Brinson … Mr. Joe Hargis made his
usual call at Riley Hargis Sunday … Mr. and Mrs. Harve Percell and son, Howard, from Pineville, Ky., are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Randall … Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Adkins and children have recently returned from Indianapolis, Ind. … Miss Minnie Bray visited at J.W. Steele's last week and attended church at Piney Grove … Miss Kisarah Phelps went to Mt. Victory last Tuesday to have some dental work done … Logan Bullock spent Sunday at Geo. Barnett's at Mrs. Barnett is very low with tuberculosis and not expected to live very long … There seems to be a great disturbance among the people at Piney Grove Friday night.  Saddle girths and bridles were being cut and bridle rings disappeared.

Pnobscott.  Green McMullin held a sale Tuesday … Mrs. S.F. Larkins and son, of Clarence, visited her daughter, Mrs. David Allen … Cecil Nelson is very ill with whooping cough … Freeland Osborne visited his daughter Mrs. V.A. York, Sunday …. Sherod Eubank and family are visiting relatives near Good Hope … Myrtle Griffin spent last week with her grandmother Mrs. Griffin … Chester Eubank still makes his regular calls at Mr. Jeff Hart's … John R. Nelson of Eubank visited his father Jordan Nelson at this place Sunday … Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Greer of Todd visited their daughter Mrs. James Floyd, Saturday.

Floyd.  We are having some very changeable weather at present in this vicinity … Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Gragg were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Trivett near Pulaski … Mrs. Kate Singleton called on Mrs. Mattie Harmon Sunday afternoon … Uncle Sam Harrington is suffering quite a bit with rheumatism at this time … Mr. and Mrs. Victor Black were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. F. Griffin Saturday night and Sunday.  They were accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs. Griffin … The big sleet and ice in this vicinity has caused quite a bit of repair work on the telephone lines …  Mr. and Mrs. Mack Griffin and son spent the day Sunday with Uncle Sam Harrington and family … Friends and relatives of Mrs. W.R. York are glad to know she is improving and are very anxious for her recovery … We are glad to learn Mrs. Trivett is improving under the treatment of Dr. Marlon Warren at Science Hill … Ira Trivett was in Somerset Friday and Saturday of last week … Chas. B. Surber was visiting his sister, Mrs. Mack Griffin one day last week .. Miss Verda Greene called on the Misses Gragg Monday afternoon .. Several from this vicinity attended the funeral of Clad Merritt at Eubank last Thursday afternoon.
