Was the daughter of Henry Reffitt and Elvira Mullens. Elvira was Henry's 2nd wife. They were married in 1898 at John Reffitts house in Montgomery Co KY. On Elvira and Henry's marriage certificate it shows their age. Elvira 17 and Henry 70. I wish I knew more about this situation. Attached to the marriage certificate is a Letter of consent from Elvira's father Jeptha Mullens. Elvira and Henry had three children together. William(N.?) shown on the 1900 Montgomery Co Census Eva D. Emma L born 1906 Henry died abt 2 months after Emma was born. He is buried at the sutton Cemetery in Means KY. He has a Civil War head Stone, 47th INf, and is buried next to John Reffitt. Sometime after Henry's death, Elvira and Children moved to Cabell Co. WV. Why I don't know..I haven't found any MUllens or Reffitt family connections On Elvira's death certificate it says she was born 02-17-1879 and died 4-14-1936, Cabell Co WV; but it also said her father was JASPER Mullen, KY and mother's maiden name was LITTLE. KY. I haven't figured out Elvira's parents yet. Jasper Jeptha Mullens (??) I'm still learning about my Grandmother's Reffitt, Wills, Ballard, Mullens family. It's only been a couple years that I've know my grandmother was a Reffitt. Any info on this Reffitt, Wills, Mullens family would be appreciated. |
