Charles Lindsey Cooper
, 86, Revelo died April 27 in Stanford of a lingering illness./  A native of Pine Knot he was born March 17, 1890 to George and Olive Ball Cooper. His wife Mary Etta Carter Cooper, preceded him in death./  Survivors include six children, George Cooper and Edwina Black, Tucson, Ari., Ruth Smith, Danville and Mae Ball, Mable McDonald and Lois Troxell of Revelo. Four children and a sister preceded him in death./  Other survivors include 28 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren./  A member of the First Hickory Grove Baptist Church, he was a retired miner./  Funeral services were held April 29 at 2 p.m. at the church by Revs. Howard Davenport and Loyd King. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery./  Funeral arrangements were handled by the McCreary County Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eva Jane Cooper
, 69, Pine Knot, died November 25, at Scott County Hospital in Tennessee. Her husband, Shird Cooper, preceded her in death./  The daughter of the late Mose Watters and Melinda Winchester Watters, she was born in McCreary County on August 8, 1904. She was a life-long resident of the county, a housewife and a member of the Church of God./  Surviving are five sons, Castle Cooper of Muncie, Ind., Buddy Cooper, Delbert Cooper, Thurman Cooper and J.B. Cooper, all of Pine Knot; three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Kelly of Pine Knot, Mrs. Vennie Watson of Oneida, Tenn., and Mrs. Mary Jo Slaven of Jamestown, Tenn.; two step-children, Mrs. Ninnie Pennington of Oneida, Tenn., and Willie Cooper of Jamestown, Tenn.; two brothers, Sidney Watters of Monticello and Henley Watters of Whitley City; 70 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren./  The Rev. Rudolph Couch conducted funeral services November 28 at South Pine Knot Church of God with burial in Pine Knot Cemetery./  Serving as pallbearers were J.B. Bilbrey, John Pyle, Coy Taylor, Phillip Kidd and Bobby Wilson./  Hickman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Frank Cooper

Frank Cooper
, 91, well-known resident of the Pine Knot community, died Monday, September 27, in Somerset City Hospital, terminating a prolonged illness. His widow, Mrs. Kizzie Winchester Cooper, survives.  Mr. Cooper, a native of McCreary County, was born April 13, 1880. He was a son of the late Wilse Cooper and Elizabeth Shepard Cooper. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired coal miner.  Besides his widow, he is survived by five sons and five daughters, Wilburn Cooper of Somerset, Ernest and Everett Cooper of Pine Knot, Quentin Cooper of Florida, Ted Cooper of Arkansas, Mrs. Zora King of Texas, Mrs. Grace King of Pine Knot, Mrs. Juanita Richie of Illinois, Mrs. Gladys Hicks of Whitley City and Mrs. Joyce Strunk of Alabama.  Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Hickman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Ball officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery. Hickman Funeral Home was in charge.

Lester Eugene Crabtree
, 49, of Stearns died August 25 at the VA Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after a lingering illness./  A native of McCreary County, he was born February 15, 1927 to the late Isham and Bertha Tabitha Crabtree. He was a factory worker and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church./  Survivors include five brothers, Laughton, Ashbury, Junior, Earnest and L.D. Crabtree; three sisters Emma Thomas, Mary Ruth Huff and Anna Rose Morgan. one sister preceded him in death./  Funeral services were held August 29 a the McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lester Troxell. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery./  Funeral arrangements were handled by the McCreary County Funeral Home.  

Tuesday, January 3, 1978, McCreary County Record:
Funeral services for Manuel Lawton Crabtree, Jr., 19, of Marshes Siding, fatally injured in a traffic accident on Ky. 92 at Smithtown on Christmas Day, were held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. the Revs. Oscar Worley and Arnold Roberts conducted services./  Kentucky State Trooper Regal Bruner investigated the accident but was unavailable for a report on the accident. His car reportedly ran off the highway./ Crabtree was born Aug. 30, 1958, to Manuel Lawton and Maxine Crabtree at Oneida but lived in McCreary County most of his life. He was a member of Sidney, Ohio Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Oscar Leroy and Michael Crabtree of Marshes Siding; two sisters, Nadine Longmire of Marshes Siding and Fayrene Wilson of Stearns; and a grandmother, Ada Wilson, of Hill Top. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased./  McCreary County Funeral Home arranged services.
