Verna L. Avera, 100, Highland Heights, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2003 at the Highland Heights Nursing & Rehab Center.

Survivors include one son, Jessie Lee Avera and wife, Elesa of Marrow, Ohio; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Isenberg of Kingsport, Tennessee; as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Avera; a son, Damond Martin; and her parents, Jim Parker and Lucinda Carr Parker.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 9 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Powers officiating. Burial was in the Douglas Cemetery.

Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
