Mrs. Marie Trent Mills, 73, of Heidrick, passed away Thursday evening, July 26, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Tolman and Carlotta Brock Trent born on August 31, 1933 in Knox County. Mrs. Mills was a homemaker and attended the Heidrick Holiness Church. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and her pet, Jed. On November 12, 1951, she united in marriage with Fred Mills in Knox County and to this union ten children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on September 11, 1991; a daughter, Kathleen Ann Mills Owens; a grandson, Wendall Slusher; four brothers, Roy, F. G., M. D. and John Paul Trent; and three sisters, Gladys 'Lizzy' Soucie, Ann Robinson and Betty Lou Warren. Survivors include her children, Larry Steven Mills of Heidrick, Jerry Dwayne Mills and wife, Sue, of Bell Co., Dwight Tolman Mills of Middlesboro, Bonnie Lou Mills of Shelbyville, Patricia Sue Brock and husband, Sol, of Carlisle, Joey Allen Mills of Bimble, Cindy Kay Mills Ambach and husband, Greg, of Barbourville, Fred Mills Jr. of Hazard and Jimmy Darrell Mills of Barbourville; two sisters, Laurie Dyke of Peoria, IL and Joyce Gilbert of Cincinnati, OH; a brother, Clyde Trent of Woollum; 12 grandchildren, Tonya, Christy Marie, Alex, Jerry Dwayne, Angela Marie, John David Brock Jr., Sol DeWayne, Keith, Jesse, Justus Bryce Mills, James and Shawn; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, July 30 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. Mrs. Mills was laid to rest in the Hampton Cemetery at Girdler. Casket bearers were family and friends. Honorary bearers were Dr. Krishna, Dr. Pedersen, Dr. West, the staff of the Knox County Hospital and Professional Home Health. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
