Jimmie Wayne MILLS, Sr.

Jimmie Wayne Mills Sr., age 52, of Parrott Branch, was born on January 16, 1954 in Knox County. He was a son of the late Franklin Mills and Velma Loretta Fox Mills. Mr. Mills died Wednesday, July 27, 2006 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Mr. Mills believed in the Baptist faith. On September 27, 1971, he united in marriage to Dora Buttery. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Ray Mills, a brother, Franklin Ray Mills and his father-in-law, Cecil Buttery.

Mr. Mills is survived by his wife, Dora Buttery Mills; his daughter, Kimberly Jean Hubbard and husband Jason; his son, Jimmy Wayne Mills and wife Kelley and daughter-in-law, Carol Mills, all of Parrott Branch; his sister and brothers, Jennifer Maella Dees of Barbourville; twin brother, Tommy Michael Mills and wife Wanda; Orville Blaine Mills and wife Geraldine, all of Parrott Branch; and Johnny Mills and wife Lisa of Barbourville; his beloved grandchildren that were nicknamed by him, Travis Andrew "T-Man," Chandler Ray "Chan Man," Joshua Franklin "Joshua Joshua," Jimberly Faith "Brown Eyed Girl," and Emily Ann "Blue Eyed Girl"; and his mother-in-law: Evelyn Buttery of Barbourville. He also leaves many dear nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and U.K. nurses, Lisa Rogers and Rachel Campbell.

Funeral services for Jimmie Wayne Mills Sr. were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, July 30, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Wolfe and Bro. Ed Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in the Mills-Parrott Cemetery at Parrott Branch, with Herschell Jordan, Larry Mills, Billy Farmer, J.J. Shepherd, Mearl Carnes, Steven Dees, Charlie Mills and Glenn Taylor serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were: Lloyd Buttery, Archie Buttery, Randall Payne, Eddie Farmer, John Parrott, Ruben York and all friends and neighbors.

The Mills family received friends at the Hopper Funeral Home Saturday 5 until 9 p.m. and Sunday after 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
