Meek Massingill, 74, of Corbin, a son of the late Millard Filmore and Mossie Ethel Surber Massengill, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. He was a retired minister and insurance agent with Corbin Funeral Home and a member of Harvest Community Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche Massengill of Corbin; one son, Steven Joe Massengill and wife Zula of Union City, Tenn.; five daughters, Deborah Lynn Johnson and husband Ira Leonard of Aiken, S.C., Connie Diann Hutchison and husband Harry H. of Ypsilanti, Mich., Pamela Joy Partin and husband Mark A. of Barbourville, Melissa Kay Massengill of Corbin and Melinda Hope Melton and husband Darrell Lee of Corbin; three sisters, Margie Jean Adams of Attwater, Tenn, Barbara Marie Owsley and Martha Joann McAfee, both of Harrogate, Tenn.; four brothers, Nathan Monroe Massengill and wife Wilma and Daniel Millard Massengil and wife Paulette, all of Harrogate, Tenn., Glenn Michael Massengill and wife Joyce of Dexter, Mich. and Gary Mark Massengill and wife Linda of Milen, Mich.; four sisters-in-law, Juanita Whitaker and husband Virgil of Monticello, Ind., Betty Lambert and husband Cledas of Harrogate, Tenn., Barbara Poore and husband Bill and Ann Myers and husband Donald J. Hank, all of Tazewell, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Services were conducted in Corbin Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, June 21, 2003 with the Revs. Herschel Walker, Ronnie Smith and Randall Mays officiating. Burial was in England Cemetery in Harrogate, Tenn. This is a courtesy announcement of Knox Funeral Home.
