Nelson Gray Nelson Gray, 82, of Mackey Bend, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2005 in Knox County Hospital. He was a son of the late James Gray and Pearlie Broughton Gray. He was of the Holiness faith and ran a taxi in Knox County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII, where he received a Purple Heart. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Louise Noe and husband Bill, Brenda Sue Reeder and husband Bob, Mary Ella Shields and husband Doug, Lisa Faye Lauterwasser and husband Eric; his sons, Nelson Dwaine Gray and wife Peggy, Harold Gene Gray and wife Charon, Charles Herman Gray and wife Donna, Gary Dan Gray and wife Lisa; his brothers, Walter Gray and wife Gladys and Richard Carson Gray and wife Sue; 17 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Services were conducted in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, Jan. 2 with the Revs. Glenn Collins, Lonnie Collett and James Mooneyham officiating. Burial was in Elliott Cemetery at Mackey Bend. |
