Mrs. Lois Brown Jackson, 56, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, 2005 in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was a daughter of the late Murphy and Fredia Iveda Syme Brown, born on Feb. 22, 1949 at Wheeler.
Mrs Jackson was a security officer with Advanced Security and Patrol Agency and was formerly a truck driver with NDI. She was a member of Kayjay Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and music.
On June 7, 1967, she united in marriage with Alvin J. Jackson in Barbourville and to this union three children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, on Jan. 3, 2001; two brothers, Denver and Fred Brown; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wilber.
Survivors include her children, Fredia Pauline McFarland and husband Michael, of Corbin, Darrell J. Jackson and wife Tonya, of Woodbine, and Michael Jackson and wife Tanya of Corbin; four sisters, Flora Terrell and Jerry Wilber, both of Toledo, Ohio, Carol Cooke and husband Charles, of Barbourville, and Stacie Robbins and husband Bob, of Corbin; two brothers, E.B. Brown and wife Sue, of Williamsburg and Ted Brown and wife Linda, of Kayjay; three adopted brothers, Harold David of Corbin, Roger of Lexington and Jeff of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Brittany Jackson, Michael Coty Jackson, Casey Michael McFarland and Kaitley Gail Jackson; a special cousin, Betty Sue Mahan, of Corbin; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing.
Her funeral service was conducted in Knox Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Barnard officiating. Mrs. Jackson was laid to rest in the Carty Family Cemetery at Girdler.
Casketbearers were nieces and nephews. Honorary bearers were her grandsons, Michael Jackson and Casey McFarland. Arrangements were under the direction of Knox Funeral Home.
