Surname: Hall and related families DNA help
My name is Daniel R. Lewis and I am researching Floyd county roots through the Hall and related families. My DNA results show me and my brother my Dad's sister and a cousin to be a mixed up bunch. European, Native and African. I have Jewish DNA and was wondering if someone could help me understand what all of that means. Thank you for any help you can be. I am the daughter of Donald Lee Floyd and we are trying to determine if our ancestor, Augustus G Floyd born Aug 22nd 1883 in Ohio, is a descendent of James John Floyd, the individual that Floyd county was named after? Any help would be very appreciated, Dr Angela Kay (Floyd) Marino, email@example.com
I am looking for a news article about two boys finding a skeleton of a woman and child in a cave in the area of Harold, Floyd County, during the mid 1950's. One of the boys name was Mike (Mack) Cecil. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Willie Sturgill firstname.lastname@example.org
We're looking for some dates for the following ancestor who was listed in the 1870 US Federal Census as: Robert M. George, Age: 45, Estimated Birth Year: 1824, Birthplace: Kentucky, Home in 1870: Precinct 8, Floyd, Kentucky, Post Office: Prestonsburg. I cannot pin down his birth date, estimated as 1824, or his death, approximately 1896. His parents were Robert Moody George and Martha Patsy Porter. There are land deeds listed for him from Floyd County. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Connie George Powell, email@example.com
I'm looking for the burial place of Robert Wallen in 1899 or so. His wife is in the 1900 Floyd Co. Census in Allen remarried to Breckinridge Bentley. In the 1880 census, Robert is 15, living in Allen with his father and step mother, Baxter and Lydia Wallen. He married Sallie Hughes and their children were Lee and Bertha. Lee married Elizabeth Hoover and Bertha married Lilley Smith. When Robert died, Sallie married Breckinridge Bentley, lived in Allen for a while, then moved to Stone Coal, in Garrett. I know all the family below Robert and most of the above, but having a hard time finding his burial place. Any help would be appreciated! Tabitha Wallen, firstname.lastname@example.org
